An eco-friendly Tiny Home Village is expanding in the Tampa Bay Area. An entire village of the minimalist structures first emerged in the region a couple of years ago. Called ESCAPE Tiny Home Village, this concept features 10 eco-friendly custom built tiny homes. This all comes from ESCAPE CEO Dan George Dobrowolski, Design Consultant Kelly Davis, and Bill Kurshinsky. The Village is located just off a brand new, lighted four lane road in 11008 US-301 in Thonotosassa. A new project that’s triple the size of, and situated adjacent, to the original is opening soon.
When Wisconsin-based company Escape announced it was building a tiny home village in Thonotosassa, all 10 homes sold out almost instantly. That was three years ago. Now the company is building 23 new homes adjacent to the original village. The pint-sized properties range between 240 and 500 square feet. They start at $100,000 and go for as much as $240,000. It’s an additional $625 a month to rent a lot in the village.
“You can live here for much less than the average apartment in Tampa and you actually own it,” said Dan Dobrowolski, founder and CEO of Escape. He said developments like this provide an economical and environmentally friendly solution to the affordable housing crisis and wondered why local governments weren’t doing more to encourage tiny homes.

I stayed in a 187-square-foot tiny home near Disneyland and I'd totally do it again.
I'm a theme-park journalist who often visits Disneyland, but I didn't find a hotel for my last trip.
As an alternative, I booked a nearby 187-square-foot tiny home through Airbnb. It was surprisingly spacious and comfortable, and I'd book it again.
